Melissa and Ray's Wedding!

Our Story

Our paths crossed in January 2017 and look where we are now.

Planning our I do’s and we are happier than ever.

It’s just one of those old fashioned stories that you come across. We met. We fell in love. We became inseparable. Our life is now complete.

We both thought going away somewhere exotic for our wedding would be a great way to start our life together as husband and wife.

A small intimate ceremony on a beach with our loved ones.

The Proposal

Ray was being extra sneaky around Christmas. Determined to have everyone home for the holidays. It was a great Christmas morning, Ray pulled it off and had all the kids home for this special day. He handed out the Christmas stockings, I opened mine as everyone (who was in on this) stopped to watch. I thought it was my sapphire ring, as I opened the ring box. I was shocked to see that it wasn’t the ring I thought was in there. And there he was, on his knee in front of the kids proposing to me. I was speechless … I said yes. :)

Insurance Information:

Travel insurance is something many of us think we don’t need…until the first time that we do. It is important to cover your trip from the moment you book, let’s face it, you never know what’s around the corner. Once you pay your deposit, it is non-refundable and any payments made after. The tour operators will not refund your money no matter what the reason! They expect you to have travel insurance to cover you for life’s unexpected events.

Full Coverage cancellation, trip interruption and emergency medical travel insurance is highly recommended! A quote will be sent to you by Sharlene.

Any exceptions will be noted upon request with Sharlene Philipchuk and its appointed Agents.
For other nationalities please contact your Travel Agent or appropriate Consulate for details.

Please, contact the agent to send the information

The Big Day

We will be getting married, on the beach. So bring your sandals!

Late in the afternoon, and spend the evening dancing & watching the sunset with our loved ones who are able to join us on this day.

The Maid of Honour:

Ellen Spence: Melissa and Ellen have known each other their entire lives. Close enough to be sisters. Can’t imagine her not being by my side on this day.

The Bridesmaids:

Alicia Harrap: What a sweetheart this girl is. I’m really happy to know she will be sharing this day with us. Nothing but a good time and lots of laughs with her.

Junior Bridesmaids:

Mya: Our oldest daughter, who has the biggest heart ever!

Isabelle – The baby of the family. Who is excited for this day to come.

The Best Man

Jim Vallenduuk: Ray and Jim met when they were just two little boys playing in the dirt. They’ve grown up together and been there for one another through every milestone. Thank you Jim for standing by his side.

The Groomsmen:

Michael St. Onge: When we got engaged, this was the 2nd person who he wanted by his side on our special day.

Nathaniel McLeod: Nate and Ray have known each other for many years and look forward to many more. Thank you for standing by his side.

Alex Abaunza: Our is the oldest son, who had proudly said yes to stand by our side.

Dorian Neal: Our youngest son, who will also stand proudly by our side.

Mayan Riviera

The Mayan Riviera is located on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. It is famous for its beautiful blue Caribbean waters and stunning white sand beaches. The Mayan does have coral in its waters but this is where you will find amazing snorkeling! The Mayan has something for everyone! You can swim in the beautiful blue oceans, hang out at your resort, or venture off to one of the many sites the Mayan has to offer. Some of these include visiting Mayan ruins (Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum are the most popular), there are ecological parks such as Xcaret and Xel-ha, swimming in cenotes (natural sinkholes or rivers filled with fresh, cool crisp clear waters), take a visit to the islands of Isla Mujeres or Cozumel (voted some of the best snorkeling and diving in the Caribbean), just to give you a few ideas. For a full list of options please visit:

At the Moon Palace Cancun, there are excursions that you are able to use your resort credit for. Please see the resort credit flyer first before booking an excursion so you don’t book an excursion that you could have used your credit for.

The excursion company that A Whole World To Travel is partnered with are partly owned by Trip Advisor and the excursions are rated by people who have actually done the excursions. They have been in business for over 20 years and have the largest database of destination products.

A few benefits to booking before you leave are the low price guarantee, less money to take with you on your trip (safer for you), better budgeting of your trip costs, budgeting of your time in destination, trusted excursions backed by a reputable company, no disappointment if an excursion is sold out and many skip the line excursions exclusive to them so that you are not wasting valuable vacation time standing in line instead of enjoying the destination.

If you are interested in booking an excursion, below is the link. You can book directly from the link, check off the box to send a copy to yourself and to the travel agent. Some excursions are confirmed immediately (over 75% of their product is confirmable the same day) and some may take a few days. A Whole World To Travel recommends booking a few months before you travel for the most up to date list and at least a week before your departure. It is full payment at time of booking for excursions. Here is the link:
